I love my work as a Certified Professional Organizer® and Certified Organizer Coach®. My approach to this work involves helping people to uncover their strengths and use those to build solutions to the challenges they face. Supporting and encouraging people to be and do their best is what makes me tick!
My father was a Foreign Service officer, so I moved around a lot growing up. Moving frequently taught me a lot about purging my possessions and living simply, but more importantly, it helped me to learn that implementing structures and routines can ease a transition. In helping my clients to organize their homes and offices, I offer customized solutions for better managing clutter, paper flow, and tasks.
My professional organizing practice led me to coaching. I realized that many times, people feel truly stuck and unable to move forward — it’s not enough to give people organizing suggestions or a fresh perspective on their space. With coaching, people gain insight into what does and doesn’t work for them. They learn to use their strengths to make decisions and take action.
As your organizing and productivity coach, I rely heavily on my previous teaching experience, where I worked with high school students with ADHD, executive dysfunction, and other brain-based conditions. I am a Certified Professional Organizer®. I’m also a Certified Organizer Coach®, and continue to train at an International Coaching Federation-accredited program, the Coach Approach for Organizers. I am a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers. I am the Director of Communications and Technology of the National Association for Professional Organizers — Washington DC Metro Chapter.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cycling, crossword puzzles, and board games.
